Well-proven and increasingly popular, powdercoating offers versatile, long-lasting finishes for aluminium products.
Advantages of powdercoat finishes include:
There is an almost unlimited range of powdercoat colours, including metallic, glossy and textured finishes, as well as colours designed to match BlueScope's Colorbond steel. For more information or to request a full colour chart, please visit the Dulux Powdercoating website [here].
Powdercoating delivers excellent film integrity and colour consistency, with no shading differences between batches.
Powdercoating creates a hard, durable finish with a lifetime of up to 30 years. The powdercoated surface is less prone to chipping and scratching, and is chemically inert, capable of withstanding corrosive environments. It is also highly resistant to light and ultra-violet degradation.
Up to 99% of powder overspray can be recovered and reused, making powdercoating a highly economical finishing process. Waste is minimal and easily disposed of, without the use of solvents.
As a completely dry finishing process, powdercoating is far more environmentally friendly than wet paint or anodising. It produces no fumes or dangerous gases, and there are no volatile organic solvents to contribute to greenhouse gas emissions and global warming. In addition, powdercoated window and door frames are more efficient reflectors of solar radiation, improving thermal performance and reducing energy costs.
